I Survived The Battle of Gettysburg 1863 by Lauren Tarshis

I read I Survived The Battle of Gettysburg, 1863, a realistic fiction by Lauren Tarshis. It was splendid. It was about a little boy named Thomas and his sister Birdie. They were both born slaves. But Thomas went to the farm field and there was a war. I like it so much that I am on the 4th book. I love the author. If you like cool books, then there you go. Start reading!

Ramona the Brave by Beverly Cleary

I read Ramona the Brave, a fiction novel, by Beverly Cleary. It was comical. Ramona is a seven year old with eager passion. Ramona is in the second grade and she has a best friend named Howie. They always play brick factory. They do a lot of adjustments to the house. Ramona's parents are willingly going to sell the house and Ramona does something bad.
The book, Ramona the Brave, was a fast book. I could have read it in one day but it took me two. Ramona is a sneaky girl. If you like adventure, then you will like Ramona the Brave.

The Thing About Georgie by Lisa Graft

I definitely recommend The Thing About Georgie by Lisa Graff because The Thing About Georgie is about not an ordinary kid. He is a midget, a dwarf, a little person. But that doesn't mean he can't do anything. But I have said too much already. Hope you like the book and if you like The Golly-Whopper Games, then you will love The Thing About Georgie.

Stink and the Incredible Super-Galactic Jawbreaker (Book #2) by Megan McDonald

I recommend this book, Stink and the Incredible Super-Galactic Jawbreaker, because it is intermediate-friendly. It is also a chapter book.  Its plot is really sudden and surprising.
In the book, you have no idea what will happen next.  There are a lot of surprises in the book. The book was so great. I read all 114 pages in one day. I recommend reading the Stink series.

All-of-a-Kind Family by Sydney Taylor

This story is about five stepping stones sisters and their adventures. There are a lot of surprises including a lost marriage, a new library lady, and a new addition to the family.  This story has an old and interesting setting. It is a perfect book for young readers who like Ramona Quimby, Age 8.

We spent four fabulous hours browsing through books for the kids.

We purchased over 16 boxes of books for Nottingham. Thank you, Spring Branch Education Foundation!
